Kohala Picnic Point

If you are in Islamabad, you have opportunity to visit hundreds of amazing places in Pakistan, and I recommend you only those places which i have personally visited,  today I will tell you about Kohala picnic point located between Punjab, KP and Azad Kashmir, Kohala is the beautiful picnic point between the mountains at bank of Jhelum river, amazing atmosphere with beautiful view of fast & furious Jhelum river, you will enjoy there beautiful weather amazing views and cold water of Jhelum river. The amazing view while standing there on Kohala bridge is amazing also.


Kohala is good one day trip destination from twin cities, it is crowded in the evening families go there and enjoy their trip a lot, I have visited many times. I have also gone there on the bike and I suggest you if you go there then also go to the Sabri waterfall with is about 8 km far from the Kohala picnic point. I suggest you visit in the summer.

Location & Route

Kohala is a beautiful picnic point and amazingly it is located between Punjab, KP and Azad Kashmir. It is about 90 km away from Faizabad bus station Islamabad and takes maximum 3 hours and 30 Km away from Mall road Murree.

You should use the route of Murree till lower Toopa then use GT Road to reach Kohala bridge, you can go there on bike, car and public transport easily available from Faizabad bus station. 

Roads are good for traveling. A little work is in progress near the Kohala picnic point, but this will not cause any trouble to you.


The weather of Kohala is a little bit cold as compare to Islamabad, sometimes hot in summers, So you should enjoy more in the evening in summers. 


Kohala is the beautiful place between the mountains and the Jhelum river that enhances its beauty. Kohala is more than a good place for nature lovers, you can enjoy the natural beauty, amazing views and cold breeze.  Kohala is the best place to enjoy b.b.q, In summers Kohala is more amazing for tourists, 

You can also enjoy the beauty of fast & furious Jhelum river, with amazing river noise you can sit there on the bank of the river and touches cold weather, there are also chairs and charpai available you can also sit there and enjoy cold water touches your feet. Kohala is the best place for photography. 

So Kohala picnic point is best one day picnic point from Islamabad…

Food & Hotels

Kohala is a one day trip destination, it takes 3 hours from Islamabad and you can easily manage without any stay. And no better place for lodging. You cannot stay there. You can easily return back to Islamabad in the night.

If we talk about Food & Hotels there are Local Hotels there, you should fix the rate before and then make an order.

Parking is also available. You should fix the rate before.



I visited Kohala picnic point in the summer. You can see my pics and videos. I may conclude that Kohala is a good place to visit. You will enjoy it a lot there. I also told you again and again that if you visit there, don’t forget to visit Sabri waterfall then your trip will be complete. So make a trip and explore Pakistan.
